From Teacher to Leader

From a classroom teacher to a respected leader in the Takaful industry, Ahmad Firdausy’s journey proves that success comes when we step out of our comfort zone and believe in our potential.

Before joining the Takaful world, Ahmad Firdausy was a teacher who inspired and guided students. In 2014, he made a big career change and joined AIA Public Takaful, where he worked until 2019. His journey wasn’t easy, but he stayed focused, worked hard, and learned everything he could about the industry.

In January 2020, he joined FWD Takaful, looking for new challenges and better opportunities. He became a manager and focused on recruiting and building a strong team. He started with only 20 people who believed in his vision and were willing to grow together.

With time, his efforts paid off. By 2022, his team had grown to 212 people — some of whom became MDRT and Elite performers. He guided and supported them every step of the way. To get here, Firdausy worked day and night, often sacrificing his personal time and lifestyle. But he says it was all worth it.

A Team Where Everyone Matters

Firdausy believes in building a team where no one is left behind. He treats everyone equally, no matter where they are — whether in Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Putrajaya, or Sarawak.

He now leads a group of 15 team leaders, and he doesn’t just want them to give orders. He wants them to be real leaders with good values, the right attitude, and strong character. He encourages them to take charge, make decisions, and learn through experience — with his full support and guidance.

“I don’t create bosses. I create leaders.”

Support from Strong Leadership

While Ahmad Firdausy has worked hard to build his team and develop as a leader, he also recognises the importance of having the right environment and guidance. At Caliph Group, that foundation was made stronger with the leadership of Hamzavi Mohd Zain, the Founder and CEO.

Hamzavi provided the platform, vision, and support needed for leaders like Firdausy to grow and thrive. His belief in developing people and giving them room to lead has helped shape the values and culture that Caliph Group stands for today — one that encourages growth, responsibility, and teamwork.
